The Danish Sports Organization for the Disabled (Dansk Handicap Idræts-Forbund)

Pressalit has during a number of years been main sponsor for the Danish Sports Organization for the Disabled – in the following named DHIF. We are very pleased with this sponsorship, since we would like to emphasize the relations between Pressalit and disability sport. Disability sport matches the company values of Pressalit as well as Pressalit Care products particularly well – and with this sponsorship it is possible for us to make a positive difference to a group of athletes, often neglected by the media.

The sponsorship is in particular focusing on DHIF’s elitist activities. The establishment of Pressalit Sports Academy is the latest example of this, where Pressalit through close co-operation with DHIF and Team Denmark actively supports disabled elitist athletes in optimising their training and preparations. In 2008 Pressalit prolonged its sponsorship of DHIF until the Paralympic Games (PL) in London in 2012.

COO Dan Boyter says about Pressalit’s commitment:
“We find it important to help create some settings, within which the goal is to bring disabled top athletes into a professional focus – and at the same time develop talent within this area. At the PL in Athens in 2004, we experienced that disability sport today is carried out at an absolute elitist level, and that the Danish performers need to prepare in the best way possible in order to take part in the struggle for medals. We are very pleased with the fact that it is possible for us to support this with Pressalit Sports Academy”.

We believe that we can learn a lot from the disabled athletes and we consider them to be good and inspiring role models for both employees and external partners as each one of them personifies goal orientation and will-power with their individual life stories. They also show us how it is possible to turn obvious limitations into strengths – all together abilities very much in line with the Keep-Living philosophy of Pressalit Care.
